Who We Are
Mission to the Fatherless is a Christian-based organization that seeks to liberate vulnerable students and young adults in Kenya from a life of abandonment, poverty, and abuse through practical care, education, employment, and discipleship.
Previously we started, opened, and operated two orphanages, in Kakamega and Oyugis, Kenya. In this home environment MTTF served vulnerable or orphaned children, providing schooling, medical care, and Christian guidance and discipleship.
Due to the current environment in Kenya we have changed our focus to provide access for further education or training to integrate older students and young adults into society as self-sufficient, Christian citizens contributing to society. This also provides these young adults with an opportunity to help support their extended families.
Discipleship is a key element in the support they receive.
Oyugis Home
Oyugis is located five miles east of the central part of Lake Victoria, the 3rd largest fresh water lake in the world. The people there are from the Luo Tribe, noted as fisherman.
Kakamega Home
Kakamega is located 30 miles north of Kisumu, the 4th largest city in Kenya. The people there are mostly from the Luyia Tribe, who are usually farmers because of the fertile land.
“‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
